Music Niagara has announced their 19th season line up and it’s a celebration of Canada!  Starting with The Big Night on June 5th this season “Music Niagara takes pride in our Canadian national treasures, such as Shaw Festival Artistic Director Emeritus, Christopher Newton, pianists Andre Laplante and Robert Silverman, and jazz legend Guido Basso. Emerging Canadian talent may be enjoyed at concerts featuring young virtuosos of the Music Niagara Performance Academy.” (Music Niagara website)

Event Highlights:
June 5 – the BIG Night – Enjoy an evening of music, food and wine. Live and silent auctions celebrating Canada and our Community! Dance to the music of Scotch Mary, paying homage to the four founding provinces.  Tickets are now on sale!
July 14 – Opening Gala – Music Niagara Performance Academy graduate violinist Emma Meinrenken, with the Canadian Chamber Academy Orchestra.
The World Premiere of Music Niagara’s Composer-in-Residence Barbara Croall’s newest work. Internationally acclaimed Italian harpist Floraleda Sacchi plays Vivaldi’s Four Seasons for Harp and Orchestra.
July 15 – The Mike Field Quintet – Get ready for a concert of toe-tapping, catchy melodies! Mike’s latest album reached the top of the Canadian jazz charts and has been nominated for two global Independent Music Awards (IMAs).
July 22 – Wine and Music – The Gould String Quartet (Ensemble-in-Residence) performs works by Haydn and Mozart in one of the newest wineries in Niagara.
