As the very first capital of the Upper Canada Colony, then called Newark, Niagara-on-the-Lake feels a special connection with the history of Canada. Today, over two hundred years after its founding, Niagara-on-the-Lake honours its rich and diverse history, and has more heritage buildings than any other town its size in Canada. We welcome you to visit and experience it firsthand during Canada’s 150th birthday!  There are events planned for the whole season.  Check out the NOTL Canada 150 website for all the details. Here are some event highlights:

May 6 : Premiere of Confederation Celebration show.  Near the Agora at Fort George.

May 26​: Heritage cruise along the Niagara River.

July 1: Pancake breakfast & lunch and the famous giant Canada Day cake

July 2: Concert on The Commons (the beautiful park photographed above)

July 3/4​: Rendezvous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta visits NOTL at Riverbeach Road dock area.

September 17: Commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the first parliament of Upper Canada. 

September 20​​: Canadian Forces Snowbirds perform at Niagara Airport, with music and entertainment.
