Do you need some fun activities for March Break? Fort George is keeping things on ice until March 20th with special hours for open skating at their parking lot rink: 10am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, 5pm-9pm on Friday, and 10am to 9pm on Saturday. This is the first year for this rink that can be kept frozen even in weather up to 15 degrees Celsius, and it has been a great success. Come and join in the fun!

If you are around on Fridays, don’t forget to join a tour of the Fort, it starts at 5:30pm – meet at the skating rink. This is followed by a fireside chat with members of the Fort George staff at 7pm. Topics will focus on the war of 1812. Remember that Fort George, just like all Parks Canada sites, has free admission in 2017 to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.
